With the epidemic of coronavirusMany have begun to think about how they could help in the return to "normal" life when social isolation ends. One solution that has emerged in several countries is the immunity passport.

Although the possibility of immunity has not yet been scientifically proven, the projects are bringing innovative ideas for the resumption of activities. They certainly show the possibility of using technology to register those who tested negative for Covid-19 and, therefore, could return to socializing in shared environments.

The Spanish companies Tourism Data Driven Solution (TDDS) and Air Institute have already formed a partnership to develop the hi+Card solution. The World Tourism Organization has also been collaborating on the solution, which received immediate support from IATA, an association with 290 airlines (85% of world transport).

O hi+Card It is a digital passport designed to certify the user's immunity to Covid-19. It uses double encryption over blockchain technology and two-factor authentication to guarantee the veracity of the information. The first test of the passport is scheduled for July, during a flight to the Canary Islands.

On the flight, upon presentation of a passport, it will be possible to organize passenger seating with adequate distancing, seeking to avoid contagion for those who do not have the solution.

“Recognized health centers will upload to the blockchain information that a person has had COVID-19 and possesses antibodies. This information is stored on a blockchain network with double encryption,” explains Antonio López de Ávila, CEO and co-founder of TDDS.

The adoption of the hi+Card solution will be voluntary, and after testing in July, it could be used worldwide. The companies involved believe it will enable a faster return to travel and tourism.

The European country is also conducting trials on one of the world's first digital passports. Back to work It is a non-governmental organization that is developing the solution. Its team includes several founders of technology startups, such as Transferwise and Bolt. The goal is to have a solution that collects data from Covid-19 tests, allowing people to share their immunity status with others.

“The digital immunity passport aims to alleviate fears and encourage societies around the world to continue with their lives amidst the pandemic,” said Taavet Hinrikus, founder of Transferwise.

The Back to Work team also includes local medical experts and state officials. The first passport tests are being conducted at Radisson hotels and the PRFoods food production company.

In Brazil, we at Privacy Tools have developed a module called Passport PrivacyThis is for verifying people's health status in the face of the coronavirus. The goal of the solution is to support the return to work after the period of social isolation caused by the coronavirus and to provide users with assurance regarding the security of their data.

“Conducting a large volume of tests increases the challenge of managing and preventing the leakage of medical and health data. In this sense, the Privacy Passport will allow for the verification of the adoption of good practices in combating the pandemic, without exposing personal data,” says Marison Souza, CTO of Privacy Tools.

The Privacy Passport can help prove a negative test result for the virus in individuals tested to companies, agencies, entities, and even clients of companies that adopt it. The workflow that will allow this to be done occurs after the test results are sent to the company's data controller (DPOThis person must enter this information into the platform, and after this process, the Privacy Passport is generated.
