Privacy Portal: tool helps in communicating with data subjects.

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

Summary

Whether you have a team in your company dedicated to LGPD compliance or are working alone to ensure data protection, you already know that this is a time-consuming process. This is not only because it requires reviewing internal processes, but also because it's necessary to address the data subjects' demands.

Many hours a week are dedicated to data mapping, process redesign, and training. Therefore, any tool that can help make the process simpler and faster is welcome.

Specialized privacy management software not only makes the compliance process easier, but also helps save time. This results not only in a company complying in less time, but also in a more economical process.

Privacy Tools includes Privacy Portal moduleThis tool serves to gather important information and facilitate the routine of your company's privacy and data protection team. It can be accessed by the internal team as well as by the data subjects.

The solution displays the collected data to the data subjects.

The Privacy Portal module unifies Consent Management and Data Subject Requests.

It allows you to create a dedicated space for communication and display of all data collected by your company and consents granted by its users, suppliers, and other individuals identified as Data Subjects.

All of this is done through the use and configuration of the Consent Management and Data Subject Request modules, also offered on the Privacy Tools platform.

It is a way to demonstrate transparency and maintain the possibility of reviewing granted and/or revoked consents, accessible to the data subjects, whether they are users, clients, suppliers, or partners.

Step-by-step instructions for using the tool.

1. Register your Purposes

Consent is granted or rejected by the data subject based on an analysis of a specific purpose. It is with this purpose (or condition) that the data subject consents or does not consent during their lifecycle and relationship with the company.

2. Create a layout and activate your portal.

Within the module, you can create a layout, choosing a name, languages, inserting your logo, and other options to give it your brand identity. Once the layout is defined, you can activate your portal and customize it with your usage preferences.

3. Integrate your portal with your website or app.

Simple and quick integration. To integrate with your website, choose the "simple link" or "embed via iframe" format. In the application integration model, the formats differ depending on the technology chosen, but basically it is done by including a link in a webview.

Who is the Privacy Portal intended for?

All companies operating in Brazil that process personal data, regardless of volume, are subject to the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law). In other words, whether you are a micro-entrepreneur with an online store or the owner of a large company with franchises across the country, you need to comply.

Fines will be applied starting in August, and it is still under discussion whether small businesses will receive different treatment. The fact is that, with the law in effect, privacy will become even more important for consumers.

Investing in privacy and data protection not only keeps your company away from penalties, but also improves your organization's image and relationship with consumers, who are increasingly informed about their rights.
