After hundreds of applicants, the Brazilian startup Privacy Tools is one of the 8 finalists from Latin America in the South Summit final. The aspiring unicorns will present their businesses to global investors and potential clients at the end of June.

Are you familiar with South Summit? In 2012, Spain Startup and IE Business School joined forces to help entrepreneurs during a time of crisis. Together, they created an innovation platform to connect startups with investors and corporations worldwide. Focusing on creating business opportunities, it hosts a series of conferences, training workshops, and meetings between investors, startups, companies, and institutions.

In addition to the conferences and networking opportunities offered by the event, there is also a competition for the best startup of the year. During the event, each selected startup has the opportunity to present its projects to the South Summit audience and a specialized jury. To maintain this connection, the Virtual South Summit is being held, where online meetings are organized. 

Latin America

Considering the ever-expanding ecosystem of Latin America, the Virtual South Summit concludes with a edition Focused on the entrepreneurial ecosystem of LATAM, featuring projects from various sectors, stages of development, and countries in Latin America. 

Among those present at this meeting will be Gina Díez Barroso, President and CEO of the Diarq Group, as well as Javier Villamizar, operating partner of Softbank. Also participating will be leading companies through startups such as Accenture and Indra, in addition to world-class investors such as Angels Nest, Dalus Capital and Angel Ventures. 

The participation of Privacy Tools

Among the more than 240 registered for the Virtual South Summit, Privacy Tools and seven other startups were selected by the jury to participate in the next presentation on June 30th. The parameters considered in the selection process for the participating startups were: project innovation, scalability and internal growth capacity, the professional team, and the potential for investment interest.

The winner of this Virtual South Summit focused on LATAM will be one of the one hundred finalists at the South Summit 2020, which will be held from October 6th to 8th in Madrid, and which in 2019 raised more than US$3,5 billion in investments. As finalists, startups will be able to present their projects to more than 1.100 international investors and companies worldwide, actively seeking innovation and thus accessing various business opportunities.
