FIEMG is complying with the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law) using the Privacy Tools tool.

FIEMG, as part of its program to comply with the General Data Protection Law, which is already in effect in Brazil, has implemented the Privacy Tools tools.

The FIEMG System is composed of FIEMG, SESI, SENAI, CIEMG, and IEL. It acts as a federation of industry unions, represents the interests of the sector, and works for the national and international growth of mining industry in Minas Gerais.

With the goal of optimizing governance for maintaining compliance with the General Data Protection Law, FIEMG contracted, in 2022 through a bidding process, the company... Privacy Tools, a company specializing in technology for privacy and data protection.

Among the modules contracted to accelerate their processes for adapting to the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) are: Consent ManagementCookie ManagementIncident ManagementPolicy ManagementData Mapping e DSAR (Requests from Account Holders).

Lucas Leite, Implementation Leader at Privacy Tools, described the project's execution as a major challenge, given the number of websites and systems that needed to be adapted to support the demands of data subjects. He further emphasizes:

“Within the first 60 days of the project, we were able to implement solutions for managing portals and websites, including cookie notices, policy publication, a dedicated service channel for requests related to the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law), and a Privacy Portal, all properly customized. This was certainly a differentiating factor in the process and will guarantee FIEMG's ability to securely support requests and ensure transparency for data subjects.”

In recent years, FIEMG has been reinventing itself and positioning itself in favor of the mining industry, aiming to be in tune with the interests of society, stimulating the values of free enterprise and entrepreneurship, through a healthy and attractive business environment that generates wealth, jobs, and social well-being.

According to Livia Marangon, coordinator of the Data Protection Management at FIEMG, the initiative to contract the services of Privacy Tools aligns with the changes being made at the Federation.

"FIEMG has different areas of activity, such as education, culture, consulting and advisory services, industrial development, economic studies, investment attraction, occupational health and safety, quality of life, sustainability, technology and innovation. It is a very complex scenario to develop a corporate project. Our goal is to move alongside the transformations of the technological world, always evolving with the purpose of better meeting the needs of FIEMG itself and the entities we represent. With Privacy Tools, it is possible to do this in a transparent and secure way."”, he points out.
