The D'Or Group, as part of its program to comply with the General Data Protection Law, already in effect in Brazil, has implemented Privacy Tools.
Founded in Rio de Janeiro in the late 70s, Rede D'Or currently has more than 50 hospitals and 40 oncology clinics, making it the largest private hospital group in the country. With over 87 doctors, 51 employees, and more than 4 million emergency room visits annually, the hospital group is a leader in cancer diagnosis and treatment in Latin America.
Like all companies that handle large volumes of personal data, Rede D'Or immediately sought to adapt its processes to guarantee the privacy of patients, family members, and employees. The LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law), already in effect in Brazil, is a strategic and priority project in many hospitals precisely because of the high volume of sensitive data processed and the sharing of data with various third-party companies, which increases the risk of leaks and misuse of personal data.
"The project was implemented quickly and effectively by the Rede D'Or technology and legal team with support from Privacy Tools' specialized technical support, and in a short time the main modules were available and running in the company." says Ariel Dascal, CDO of the group.
With Privacy Tools' LGPD solution, the group now has access to the tool's various resources to adapt the company to the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law). The Brazilian startup's platform is being used to map and manage personal data flows, obtain patient consent, provide support to data subjects, manage cookies and policies across all the group's portals.
According to Privacy Tools CEO Aline Deparis: “It’s possible for a company to start and see results in just a few days, but it’s very important that the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law) be seen as an asset for the organization because all processes involving the handling of personal data need to be revisited. Our tool is essential for companies, but it alone will not make the company compliant; involvement and dedication from all teams are necessary on this journey towards privacy.”
PrivacyTools is a PrivacyTech company, meaning a startup in the privacy sector, accelerated by Obr.global and is one of the pioneers in Brazil in offering solutions for LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law).
The company aims to transform how businesses protect and manage the privacy of personal data and has over 150 clients, including Rede D'or, Banco RCI, Pague Menos, Farmácias São João, Grupo Bom Jesus, Universidade de Fortaleza, Synnex Corporation, among others.
For media outlets, PrivacyTools solutions help maintain the privacy of those browsing online articles by managing cookies authorized by readers, writing Privacy Policies, and mapping user data that is collected and used, in order to recognize and minimize the risk of leaks or misuse of information.
