With the goal of complying with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), the Bom Jesus Educational Group has partnered with Privacy Tools, a privacy management platform and one of the pioneers in Brazil in offering LGPD solutions. Privacy Tools has already been ranked as one of the most attractive companies for the market by the 100 Open Startups ranking.
The Bom Jesus Educational Group, which owns FAE Centro Universitário and Colégio Bom Jesus, along with Universidade São Francisco (USF), began its process of adapting to the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law) back in 2018, at the time the law was published, through internal discussions about the applicability of the legislation in relation to the company.
“In March 2019, we officially launched the adaptation action plan. Afterwards, we hired a consulting firm specializing in Digital Law to analyze the data mapping carried out internally, prepare the assessment, provide information security consulting, contract technological tools, and handle other steps such as defining the data protection officer, adapting contracts, training employees, dealings with suppliers, developing policies, reviewing processes, etc.”, explains Ana Paula Copetti, DPO of the Bom Jesus Educational Group.
The protection of personal data has always been a factor of great importance for the institution. “This is reflected in the institution's credibility with the market, our students and their guardians, our employees, and other stakeholders,” commented the DPO, who led the implementation of Privacy Tools at the institution. According to Ana Paula, what led to the choice of Privacy Tools was the “reliability, experience, security, and willingness to support us conveyed from the first contact.”
